Wheel Straightening and Repair
A bent wheel does not always mean you need to buy a new one. In many cases, professional straightening can restore the wheel's shape and return it to a safe, usable condition.
Potholes, curbs, and uneven road surfaces can damage a wheel surprisingly easily. A bent wheel can cause vibration, compromise driving comfort, and make wheel balancing difficult. Furthermore, the damage is not always visible to the naked eye; it may only become apparent while driving or during the wheel balancing process.
At ALL Motors, we inspect the wheel's condition before starting any work. We assess the damage and determine whether straightening the wheel is a technically sound and safe option. The straightening process is carried out with precision and control using specialized equipment designed for this purpose.
Our goal is to restore the wheel's geometry as close as possible to its original shape, avoiding the need for an unnecessary replacement.z
Frequently asked questions
- When is wheel straightening a good option?
- You should have the rim inspected if: • you feel vibration in the steering wheel or the car while driving • the wheel cannot be balanced normally • the rim has sustained an impact from a pothole or curb • there is a visible dent or other deformation on the rim • air is leaking from between the tire and the rim • you suspect the rim is damaged, even if the damage isn't clearly visible
- How is rim straightening performed?
- The rim is mounted on a straightening machine where its runout and deformations can be checked. The damaged area is straightened in a controlled manner using hydraulic force, while the rim's shape is monitored throughout the process. Each rim and instance of damage is assessed individually. If the rim cannot be straightened safely or the damage is too severe, we will inform you before proceeding with the repair. It is not always practical or advisable to repair every damaged rim.
- Why is the condition of the rim important?
- A straight, undamaged rim ensures the wheel rotates smoothly and allows for proper balancing. It affects driving comfort, tire performance, and the car's handling. If the car vibrates or you suspect rim damage following an impact, it is best to check the rim's condition before attempting to resolve the issue by replacing tires or other components.
